Managing Properties

Learn how to create and manage your website properties in CookieFast.

Creating a Property

Step 1: Click "Add Property"

From the dashboard home, click the "Add Property" button.

Step 2: Fill in Details

Website URL (required):

  • Your website domain (e.g., https://example.com)
  • Can include www or not
  • Subdomains work (shop.example.com)

Display Name (required):

  • Friendly name for this property
  • Example: "My Blog", "E-commerce Store"

Privacy Policy URL (required):

  • Link to your privacy policy
  • Can be relative (/privacy) or full URL
  • Example: https://example.com/privacy

Cookie Policy URL (required):

  • Link to your cookie policy
  • Can be relative (/cookies) or full URL
  • Example: https://example.com/cookies

Step 3: Create

Click "Create Property" to generate:

  • Unique API key
  • Default banner settings
  • Embed code

Your property is now live! Add the embed code to your website to activate the banner.

Property Settings

General Settings

Property Status:

  • Active: Banner displays normally
  • Inactive: Banner disabled (scripts still in database)

Website URL:

  • Cannot be changed after creation
  • Contact support if you need to change domains

Display Name:

  • Can be updated anytime
  • Only visible to you in dashboard

Policy URLs:

  • Can be updated anytime
  • Changes reflect immediately on banner

API Key

Your API key is unique and can identify your property.

Embed Code

Getting the Embed Code

  1. Click property card
  2. In Embed Code section, click "Copy Code"
  3. Paste into your website's <head> section

Script Callbacks

Configure analytics and marketing scripts to execute after consent.

Adding Scripts

  1. Click property → "Script Callbacks"
  2. Choose category: Analytics or Marketing
  3. Add script URL (optional)
  4. Add JavaScript code (optional)
  5. Click "Save"

Enabling / Disabling

Temporarily Disable

  1. Click property card
  2. Toggle "Status" switch to off
  3. Banner stops displaying immediately

Use cases:

  • Testing changes
  • Temporary maintenance
  • Seasonal campaigns
